Checkpoint Charlie – Bernauer Strasse Memorial

A monumental day in German history. The hermetical sealing off of West Berlin on 13 August 1961 shocked the world. The gradual closing of the border that followed resulted in the creation of a virtually impenetrable barrier. We will show you the remains of the Berlin Wall, and the course it once took between Checkpoint Charlie and the memorial in Bernauer Strasse.
